The results obtained showed that the optimal culture conditions were COD concentration of 5 000 mg/L, of inoculum size of 5% (V/V) , 30 ℃, initial pH 6. 5 and shaking speed of 160 r/min, incubation time of 72 h, under the conditions, the highest flocculating activity achieved for Kaolin suspension was 96.75% . The wastewater treatment experimental results indicated that the turbidity and chroma removal rates of the bioflocculant for several wastewaters were above 90% and 80% , respectively. The COD removal rate was 73.60%~91.10% . It is concluded that the method of production of bioflocculants by culture of the PS-25 using molasses wastewater is feasible. %K molasses wastewater %K bioflocculants %K Pseudomonas alcaligenes PS-25 %K optimization of culture conditions %K wastewater treatment
