A practice for improved coagulation is the use of potassium permanganate composite (PPC) as a flocculent aid and PAC as a coagulant. Comparing the effect of the PPC and PAC different dosages to treating the landscape water by jar-test, it was found that the optimal PPC and PAC dosages were 1 mg/L and 60 mg/L respectively by fed into simultaneously. The removal rate of TP, chlorophyll a, and algae density was 54%, 32.3% and 35.4%, respectively, which was treated by clarification with enhanced coagulation in pilot test. The TP and TN of landscape of reclaimed water decreased gradually, from 4.9 mg/L and 23 mg/L to 0.72 mg/L and 10.3 mg/L. Enhanced coagulation with PPC is great effective for controlling algae growth to improve the water quality of landscape.
