%X Electrolytic recovery and ion exchange are used to recover silver from photo-processing wastewater. The research results show that electrolytic recovery is cost-efficient for the recovery of silver from high concentrations of photo-processing wastewater. For low and moderate concentrations of photo-processing wastewater, when IRA-68 ion exchange resin is regenerated with 4% sulfuric acid,its exchange capacity can increase four times; and it is easier to dispose regenerator and recover silver because the exchanged silver is directly fixed on the resin during regeneration. In conclusion, the conventional ion exchange technology has been greatly enhanced by using IRA-68 resin regenerated with dilute sulfuric acid because this process offers many advantages, such as higher silver recovery, longer run time and simpler operation.
