%X In this paper, the procedures and principles of three different water extraction methods: index modeling, supervised classification and decision are presented respectively. By taking Dongting Lake as an example, a comparison among these three methods is made and thus a certain basis is provided for the use of the optimum water extraction models for different purposes at different time.
