%X In this paper,the history of Mars exploration is reviewed in brief.The people's understanding of the formation, evolution, geological and climatic characteristics of the Mars is presented. Some puzzles about Mars evolution are discussed in detail.The research direction which should be paid attention to in the future Mars exploration is analyzed.Finally, the possible research on Mars exploration which can be carried out in China in the future is discussed and the parameters of some required payloads are analyzed.
