%X A Gram-negative bacterial strain D-B,which was able to grow on 1,1-dichloroethylene(1,1-DCE)as sole carbon and energy source,was isolated from aerobic activated sludge and identified as Alcaligenes sp.When maintaining the same concentration of strain D-B,the biological removal rate of 1,1-DCE increased at first and then decreased with the increasing 1.1-DCE and the degradation was mainly taken place within 3 to 5 hours after adding 1.1-DCE.The removal rate of 1.1-DCE attained the maximum value of 85.32% when the initial concentration of 1,1-DCE was 300 μg/L.The removal of 1,1-DCE degraded by strain D-B was in accordance with the Monod equation:the saturation constant was K_s=21.96 mg/L and the maximum specific substrate degradation rate of 1,1-DCE was V_(max)=50.76 mg/(L·h).
