%X Hydrocyclone is one of the major important equipments for treatment of polluted water. The separation efficiency is the most important technical indicator for evaluating whether the separating process is perfect or not. It can reflect the performance of the equipment from both the qualitative and quantitative aspects. At present, it is still deficient in theoretical foundation on the concrete quantization of hydrocyclone design. The performance experiment of separating solid particle from water by hydrocyclone is carried out in order to provide a theoretical basis for the design of hydrocyclone. The structure size, shape and relative proportions of hydrocyclone have different impacts on the separation efficiency. Furthermore, the best value scope of design parameters has been proposed. Hydrocyclone with good function can be made according to the design principles and methods of this paper.
