The results indicated that after the treatment with Cd2+,different changes in nucleolar morphology appeared. The nucleolar material was extruded from the nucleus into the cytoplasm, and the nucleoli at mitotic metaphase did not disappear. Apparently, cadmium showed a specific effects on the nucleoli in root tip cells of Allium cepa. The possible mechanism behind this phenomenon is also briefly discussed. %K cadmium %K chloride %K Allium %K nucleolus. %U http://www.alljournals.cn/get_abstract_url.aspx?pcid=3FF3ABA7486768130C3FF830376F43B398E0C97F0FF2DD53&cid=A7CA601309F5FED03C078BCE383971DC&jid=6CB1530875F53489BF1E81BD87B7F5E6&aid=D6F80D15E4085F7E482E7EA967A6C611&yid=3EBE383EEA0A6494&vid=B31275AF3241DB2D&iid=38B194292C032A66&sid=9C82B18080268586&eid=B54EB62E9D3FF31E&journal_id=1001-0742&journal_name=Journalofenvironmentalsciences(China)&referenced_num=0&reference_num=0
