The study was conducted to analyse sea water sampling from Jiaozhou Bay for four times during May in 2003 to February in 2004, including testing of power of hydrogen (pH), dissolved oxygen (DO), chemical oxygen demand (COD), oil and heavy meta1s,and assessing water quality. The results showed that average values of DO, COD, oil, Cu, Zn, Pb, Cd, total Hg were 6.63 mg/L, 1.51 mg/L, 0.038 mg/L, 2.58 g/L, 24.86 g/L, 1.05 g/L, 0.096 g/L, 0.043 g/L in May in 2003; 5.61 mg/L, 1.27 mg/L, 0.026 mg/L, 3.9 g/L, 20.5 g/L, 0.77 g/L, 0.13 g/L, 0.041 g/L in August in 2003; 7.27 mg/L, 1.86 mg/L, 0.016 mg/L, 4.02 g/L, 16.55 g/L, 0.63 g/L, 0.093 g/L, 0.06 g/L in November in 2003 and 10.1 mg/L, 2.38 mg/L, 0.011 mg/L, 3.45 g/L, 18.18 g/L, 0.64 g/L, 0.16 g/L, 0.051g/L in February in 2004; the sea waters were polluted seriously in Haibo river mouth and Huangdao ferry. Contents of Pb and Zn exceeded the standards; the pollution of organic compound was serious. %K COD %K Jiaozhou Bay %K COD %K oil %K heavy metal %K pollution assess
