李晓东 %A 刘红军 %A 张民生 %A 王秀海 %J 海洋科学 %D 2009 %I %X With in-lab flume model experiments, coarsening of seabed silty soil of the Yellow River Estuary is studied under wave actions. In the experiments, changes in soil grain composition and pore water pressure are monitored and analyzed, and mechanism of the process is discussed with the combination of geophysical methods and numerical analyses. The analytical results show that shearing action of waves and seepage field induced by non-uniform distribution of pore water pressure lead to coarsening a the seabed soil, i.e., its mean particle diameter increases, and its clay content decreases. The results have a special reference to the stability study of silty seabed of the Yellow River Estuary. %K the Yellow River Estuary %K wave actions %K silty seabed %K coarsening %K flume experiment
