By utilizing the pollution sources census data and land use data, the pollutant loads into the water environment control unit are estimated in consideration of the transport distance of pollutants. The water environmental control unit in the Daliao River, Yingkou City, which is polluted mainly by pollutants from urban areas, is selected to estimate and analyze the pollutant loads into the Daliao River. The results show that the proposed estimation method can be reasonably applied to estimate the pollutant loads into rivers, and the results can provide basis for water environmental capacity verification and policy-making on pollutant load reduction. %K urban areas %K water environment %K control units %K pollution sources census %K pollutant loads into rivers
