%X Transition metal (Fe,V,Mn,Co and Cu)/Ce composite oxide catalysts were prepared by co-precipitation. The catalytic activity of the catalysts for soot combustion was determined by thermogravimetry (TG). The results show that the added transition metal greatly enhances the catalytic reactivity of ceria. Among the catalysts,the iron-cerium composite oxide exhibits the most activity.
