%X The influence of CO2 loading on CO2 removal efficiency was studied in this paper. The experimental results revealed that the CO2 removal efficiency decreased significantly with increased CO2 loading. At high CO2 loadings, the efficiency was very difficult to improve even by further increasing the content of ammonia in the solutions. After screening various organic and inorganic additives, piperazine (PZ) and sodium phosphate were found to show the most improvement in CO2 removal, and were hence selected for detailed investigation. It was found that when the ratio of PZ to total ammonia was 0.08, the CO2 removal efficiency increased by 29.4%, 31.0%, 21.7% at CO2 loadings of 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, respectively, while when the ratio of sodium phosphate to total ammonia was 0.10, the efficiency increased by 11.0%, 11.7%, 17.1% at the same CO2 loadings.
