%X In vitro metabolism of 2-nitro-fluorene by Aroclor 1254 induced rat liver micro somehas been investigated under ambient atmospheric condition.The metabolites have been iso-lated by reversed phase HPLC and identified by MS,UV,IR,HPLC and GC. Monohy-droxy 1-2-fluorenes and dihydroxy 1-2-nitro-fluorene are found at first time in metabolismproducts of 2-nitro-fluorene.Some minor products remained unidentified because of insuffi-cient quantities. The results of this study also confirm the complexity of the metabolic acti-vation pathways of nitro-polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
