%X In order to predict the possible influence of a planned sewage treatment facility on Ma-Tan groundwater resources area two kilometers away, the contaminant transport model both on steady and unsteady flows were applied to calculate the variation of phenol concentration in the ground-water using finite-element procedure. The results indicated that the operation of the facility will not cause the phenol content in groundwater to go beyond the potable water standard.
