%X By using wind tunnel simulation technique and field survey and based on the jet theory,experiments for modeling the environmental impact of automobile exhaust discharged from the ventilation tower and from the tunnel exits have been carried out.An emerical model for predicting the dispersion of air pollutants has been developed which is suitable for the assessment on environment impact in the model area.The results demonstrated that 1)automobile exhaust emitted from tunnel exits may cause serious air pollution and the concentration of waste gases may be exceeded the permission standard.However,the pollution is limited to a small area and associated to the lay out of the surrounding buildings,air temperature,and the intensity of transportation etc .;2)the aerodynamic effect of surrounding buildings affects significantly to the dispersion of the pollutants;3)the approach of physical modeling has its unique advantage and the results of model calculation and the wind tunnel measuring data can be used for mutual verification.
