The results indicated that, in a short period, both simulated acid rain and Cd were harmful to soil plant systems, effects of Cd were more remarkable than those of acid rain, effects of complex pollution on soil-plant systems were more significant than simplex effects of simulated acid rain or Cd, and synergistic effects could be observed. In this experiment, toxic effects of the combination of simulated acid rain with pH 3.5 and Cd of 20mg?kg-1 on soil-plant systems were the most serious. Although the synergistic effects, in a short period, exhibited merely in a few indexes such as Cd contents in soil exchangeable pool and in Glycine max stems and roots, chemical mechanisms and complex effects of acid rain and soil Cd are worthy of attention, and the long-term effects of the complex pollution need further studies. %K soil-plant system %K Glycine max %K simulated acid rain %K Cd %K complex pollution %K environmental effect
