%X The contents of humic acid, fulvic acid and water extractable fulvic acid were measured for 528 soil samples collected from 149 profiles of main soil groups in Jilin Province. The data distribution pattern and the relation between the water-extractable fulvic acid content and the content and the vertical distribution of soil fulvic acid. It revealed that the content of soil fulvic acid decreases from east to west and the content of water extractable fulvic acid showed an opposite trend. There was a significant correlation between soil fulvic acid and morbidity of Kaschin-Beck disease. The fulvic acid content in drilling core from Qianan County was also determined and it was suggested that the drinking water supply from Q2 and Q3 aquifer might be a reason causing the disease at plain area.
