%X In order to achieve sustainable development,it is imperative for us to innovate the higher environmental education.This paper proposes the following suggestions on reform and development of China's higher environmental education:raising environmental awareness in higher education strengthening integrated teaching and research in environmental programs;strengthening the humanities and social sciences in environmental programs;revising basic training specification and teaching requirements of programs and improving teaching methods;finding and developing the potential to meet the demands of qualified personnel in environmental protection;renewing environmental knowledge for faculty members of China's universities and colleges;establishing environmental education funds.
