%X A biological column with denitrifying bacteria from activated sludge in urban domestic sewage treatment plant was set up to study removal of NOx from waste gas.It was shown that biological column can be used to reduce NOx to the elemental nitrogen.The NO2 removal efficiency was more than 99% and the NO removal efficiency was about 90%.The optimum temperature of denitrifying bacteria was 3045.The initial NO concentration(50mg/m3500mg/m3)had little effect on the removal efficiency.The NO removal efficiency was decreasing with increasing flow of waste gas.
