%X The primary intent of this research is to explore optimal starting conditions of an anaerobic digester. Anaerobic treatment of wastewater has many advantages, but it takes a long time for the digester to start running, so that the equipment cannnot bring into full play. The authors investigated starting conditions of anaerobic treatment in a acitric acid factory, found that the conditions were optimized by using orthonal design. The experimental results were applied to the industrial equipment for treating wastewater and got a satisfactory benefit.
