%X In this work, several transition metal ionic complexes-the metal (Co+2, Ni+2, Mn+3) salts of 2-2,4-dihydroxybenzoyl] benzoic acid are synthesized. The physico-chemical properties are characterized in detail and their ability of photostabilization are evaluated. The result shows that the complex containing manganese has the best ability of photostabilization. This is due to the least break of intramolecular hydrogen bond in the metal salts studied here.
