%X The effect of polydispersity of molecular weight distribution Mw/Mn on radiation-induced crosslinking of polyethylene has been studied. The deviation from the linearity of Charlesby-Pinner's relationship increases with Mw/Mn. A parameter v has been defined to estimate the deviation. v and Mw/Mn can be simply related with the empirical expression v=1.25-0.18(Mw/Mn)0.08 in the range of Mw/Mn experimentally studied. The Mw/Mn could be estimated accordingly with radiation crosslinking technique by means of the expression.
