%X The synthesis of GPC packings of St-DVB copolymer of low degree of crosslinking (7%-9%) is discussed in connection with the mechanism of pore formation and the function of the diluents present. It was shown that the nature of the diluents used does not influence the permeation limits of the gels.Several organic compounds were used to calibrate the gels and their hydrodynamic volumes in tetrahydrofuran were equated to those of polystyrene. From the data of gel parameters and their chromatographic characteristics, it can be derived that even in gelsof low degree of crosslinking certain degree of uneven crosslinking is prevailing.
