%X A three-dimensional model of liquid steel flow,temperature and solidification in a slab casting mold with magnetic induction is presented in FLUENT and magneto-hydrodynamics(MHD).The model is applied to investigate the effects of flow and heat transfer in the mold with and without electromagnetic brakes(EMB),their strength is measured at a steel plant.The results show that free face velocity and penetration depth of liquid steel can be decreased under a constant EMB strength.Electromagnetic forces can be co...
