%X Strains were isolated from coking plant polluted soil. A strain which degraded phenol was obtained by screening and acclimatizing, and was identified as Pseudomonas sp. After optimization of conditions, the degradation of phenol is up to 100%. The suitable conditions for degradation of phenol are pH=6.79 and T=37oC and the kinetics of the degradation was also explored.
