The fringe projector is able to generate a time-series, frequency-varying fringe patterns by using the acousto-optic interaction effect. The system is qualified for video-rate 3-D profilometry of arbitrary shape objects. The AO technique for producing interference patterns provides significant benefits, such as high precision, full field and dynamic programmable ability.
