%X In order to obtain high transmission and reflection of liquid crystal display (LCD) simultaneously,a single-cell-gap transflective LCD with dual orientation of LC at an initial state was proposed.The liquid crystal director in the pixel of reflective region was hybrid aligned,and in the other pixel of transmissive region was homogenously aligned.The effective phase retardation value in the reflective region becme half of that in the transmissive region.With the uniaxial films compensation method,wide spectral response in the full visual wavelength could be realized.Normally black mode and normally white mode could be realized with different uniaxial films.The simulation results show that both the two modes can realize the wide wavelength response,and the transmission curve matches well with the reflection curve,with no gray scale reverse and exhibiting excellence visualization character until the azimuthal angle extends to 40°.
