王学文 %A 王成 %A 周仁龙 %A 曾志前 %J 光子学报 %D 2009 %I %X This paper proposes a radial dependent dispersive finite-difference time-domain method (FDTD) for the modeling of electromagnetic cloaks. The permittivity and permeability of the cloak are mapped to the Drude dispersion model and taken into account in dispersive FDTD simulations. Numerical simulations demonstrate that under ideal conditions, objects placed inside the cloak are ‘invisible′ to external electromagnetic fields. For an incident plane wave and the point source, the wave front enters the cloak smoothly, bends around the central region and returns to its original pattern after leaving the cloak. The far scattering pattern shows that the scattering of the cloak can be reduced compare to the scattering of a perfectly conducting cylinder. %K Electromagntic cloaks %K Anisotropic material %K Finite-difference time-domain method
