%X A diode-pumped CW mode-locked Nd:YVO4 laser with a repetition rate of 1 GHz was demonstrated. The laser was passively mode locked by a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM). The QML operation was successfully suppressed by using an output coupler with very low transmission (0.8%) and a 2 W LD pump source introducing a small pump spot in the laser crystal. The lasing oscillation threshold was 35 mW and CW mode locking threshold was 0.8 W. The maximum average output power was 210 mW with 1.6 W pump power.
