%X The electrochemical measurement was conducted on carbon steel samples coated with organic coatings.The coatings were induced holes with different diameters in order to simulate artificially the damage severity of the coatings in practice.A coefficient of damage severity of organic coating K p was put forward,and the relationship of K p and the parameters of the electrochemical equivalent circuit of the coating system was given,which could describe the damage severity of organic coatings.This paper offered a theoretic fundamental for designing instruments for field monitoring.Furthermore,the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy of organic coatings with different damage severities was measured and analyzed.
