%X The categories and characteristics of Intrauterine Contraceptive Device (IUD) are narrated.Progress in study of corrosion behavior of copper,which is common used as material of IUD in physiological environments,is summarized.Many factors that affect the corrosion rate of IUD,such as purity of copper,dissolved oxygen,pH value of media and serum albumin etc.are discussed.In addition,the development of IUD and research direction of corrosion resistance are reviewed in the end of the paper.
