The effect of NaCl concentration, temperature and pH on pitting potential (E b) was discussed. The results indicate that sensitization leads to E b decrease. Increasing NaCl concentration and temperature or decreasing pH shifts E b to more negative values. The intergranular corrosion of stainless steel makes pitting corrosion resistence worse. %K sensitization %K type 304 stainless steel %K pitting potential
