%X Seven copper alloys were exposed in South China Sea for 8 years. Results show that the relationship between the average corrosion depth of copper alloys and the exposure time can be described by H=aTb and that the average corrosion rates for copper alloys decrease with time. The corrosion product film formed on some copper alloys was analysed by EPMA and X-ray diffraction. The reason that HSn62-1 has good resistance to general corrosion is due to the Sn enrichment in the local zone of inner corrosion layer and the inhibiting effect of the formed tin compounds on the dissolution process of the anodic phase.
