%X The Progress of the theory on mixed potential is reviewed and the advance in this field in our Laboratory is introduced briefly. An equation to describe the relationship between the corrosion current density and the polarization resistance of a corroding metallic electrode is proposed. This equation can be applied to any electrochemical corrosion process and the well known Stern Geary equation is a special case of it. A four parameter equation was published by the author in 1985 to describe the polarization curve of the corroding metallic electrode in the case that the cathodic process of the corrosion process is controlled by both discharge and diffusion processes. On the basis of the Faradic admittance equations proposed by the author for irreversible electrode reactions, Faradic admittance equations at mixed potentials can be readily obtained. The phenomenon of "Degeneration of EIS" at mixed potentials is stressed. Some interesting results have been obtained by applying the theory of EIS at mixed potentials to the researches on interfacial inhibitors. They are listed in the present paper.
