%X This paper is aiming to solve soft water corrosion of steel for closed circulating cooling systems.On trial tests of inhibition performance of some existent corrosion inhibitors individually or combinationally,an optimal formula GSZ-2 consisted of sodium molybdete,zinc sulfate,hydroxy-acid amide and PBTCA was obtained,which has favourable corrosion inhibition performance for steel in soft water. With 41mg/L GSZ-2, the corrosion rate of steel in soft water is 0.0298mm/a,and thereby the water quality meets the requirement of GB8978-1996 Integrated Waste Water Discharge Standard.In view of its all round performance,including economical efficiency and environmental influence etc. GSZ-2 is an excellent corrosion inhibitor for steel in soft water for closed circulating cooling system.
