%X The thin films of ZrN and ZrC have been synthesized on A3 steel by IBAD, and Teflon film has also been made by R.F. sputting. The corrosion resistance of the different deposited films was evaluated by the measurement of the electrochemical polarization in 3.5% NaCl solution. The result showed that the three kinds of fims presented a better corrosion resistance. The corrosion resistance of the films increased with the film thickness. Compared to ZrN and Teflon films , ZrC film gave the best corrosion resistance.
