%X Two electrochemical methods have been developed for studying the pitting initiation, pitting propagation and inhibition. They are potentiostatic open\|circuit relaxation curves and chronopotential method. The results show that the former can correctly reflect the absorption of the inhibitor on the metal surface and the display the pitting initiation and pitting propagation. The latter can qualitatively reflect the level and the inhibition of pitting propagation , while this method needs to be further improved.
