%X Molecular size distribution of water soluble organic matter (WSOM) and fulvic acid (FA) of soils sampled from eastern China were determined by gel chromatography. The spatial variation in molecular size distribution of WSOM and FA was analyzed. There is a decreasing trend in molecular size distribution of WSOM and FA, average molecular size decreasing from north-east to south-west in the study area. Precipitation and temperature were thought to be basic factors for this.
