%X The compilation of a larg,e scale map of urban population is of significance in the study and protection of urban ecological environment.The map shows the change of urban population in time and space and stresses the state of the population distribution in day and night in puplic places.However, it is a new research subject .Looking for the statistical method related to instantaneous population is a key for solving this problem.n the paper the basic points of the statistical method related to instantaneous population are explained before the statistical parameters and relevant mathematical models are designed based on the main features of the space of instantaneous population at rest such as commercial centres, streets and transportation stations,etc .Then the dynamic population in the space of instantanecous population at rest is converted into the normal population in order to be convenient for cartography The efforts in this project will certainly exert a positive influence in promoting the development of the urban population map.
