%X Old sample DNA is a important heritage resource,and frequently used in the research of origin and evolution of life.Here we introduced the studying aspects of old sample DNA,including the characteristic,the extraction methods,PCR amplification,sequencing,the criterion of authenticity and the advances of its utility in life science research.We also discussed the problems in the old sample DNA studies.
