%X The chromosomes of the Chinese mitten-handed crab (Eriocheir sinensis H. Milne Edwards) were studied in preparations of testis, obtained by air-dry methods. The numbers of the chromosomes in the crabwere founded to be: 2n = 146, n = 73. The chromosomes are all dot or short-rod shapes.
