%X The sequence data used were the conservative part of 5.8S rRNAs of seven species of protists (yeast, ciliate, trypanosomatid, microspora, diplomonad and two species of dinoflagellates) and of one species of higher plant (rice). The corresponding part in 23S rRNAs of seven species of prokaryotes (eubact-erium, halophilic archaebacteria, methane-producing archaebacteria and sulfur-dependent thermophilic archaebacteria) were separately or integrately used as references.
