%X The masson-pine caterpillar, Dendrolimus punctatus Walker, is the most serious forest pest in the Southern China. In order to work out effective plan for its biological control, the author investigated the effect of natural enemies on the masson-pine caterpillar population in Qinzhou county, Guangxi Autonomous Region. Life tables of 5 generations of masson-pine caterpillar were established from 1982 to 1984 and were given in table 1-5. According to the life tables, its generation mortality percentage caused by the natural enemies were provided in table 6. The results showed that the natural enemies had a great effect on the population of massonpine caterpillar. Except for second generation of 1982, its generation mortality percentage was close to 50% or above 50%.Therefore, the protection of the natural enemies of masson-pine caterpillar is a safe and effective biological control measure.
