%X With the restriction of reflection/refraction and for the purpose of simulating the crustal density structure in western China, this paper has conducted Bouguer gravity anomaly inversion simulation along the following 3 profiles: Gaer (Tibet)-Buerjin (Xinjiang), Yadong (Tibet)-Golmud (Qinghai)-Erjinaqi (Inner Mongolia) and Altay (Xinjiang)-Chengdu (Sichuan). The crustal density structures are divided into 2 parts. The crustal thickness in the south is larger than that in the north, but the density in the south is lower. The crust in western China is in the state of isostasy. In the crust and upper mantle, the density is characterized by lateral and vertical heterogeneity. The asthenosphere is of low density in Tibet, and the upward buoyancy it caused seems to be one of the uplift mechanisms in Tibet plateau.
