%X A potential vorticity equation was derived in a general coordinates (p). With y representingz;;p;; or 0;; the correspponding potential vorticity equation is identical with the previous potentialvorticity equation in different coordinates respectively. The potential vorticity is conserved under theadiabatic and frictionless conditfons independently of the chosen coordinates.
