%X In this paper, the annual and monthly mean temperature over China is shown based on the analysisof the monthly mean temperature at 71 1 stations in 10 areas in China from 3 x 105 data for the period of1873-1990. The climatic variations of the temperature are discussed. The results show that the variations of the mean temperature over China are similar to that over the Northern Hemisphere. There aretwo periods in which temperature were higher, i.e., in the 1940s and 1980s for the last 100--year. Themean temperature of the Northern Hemisphere in the 1980s is higher thall that in the 1940s, but themean temperature of China in the 1980s is lower than that in the 1940s.
