%X China is now entering into a new phase in the development of industrialization and urbanization. Since 1979, the urbanization process has been more rapid than it had before, and the relationship between city and regional development is strengthened. The paper discusses the relationship between city and regional development from three main aspects: 1) research background; 2) how to enhance the study of the relationship between city and regional development; and 3) the regional spatial development in the urbanization process.
