%X Frequency upconversion in the visible region has been studied in multi-mode Yb 3+-doped D-shape double-cladding fiber laser pumped by laser diode array. Upconversion luminescence of the fiber laser was measured and red and blue light was observed. From the measured spectra, the mechanism of transitions has been analyzed.
