%X In this paper, phase weighting method using genetic algorithm is presented in order to make pattern broaden, satisfying the need of swath. In addition, the broadened pattern is simulated. According to the broadened pattern, the SAR system parameter and the orbit parameter, the range and azimuth ambiguity levels and the system sensitivity are calculated and the results are given. Based on these results, beam positions are devised. The simulation results show that phase weighting method using genetic algorithm is feasible
